Jacquie Hood Martin
Christian Life Skills Coach, Author, Speaker, Trainer
Rev. Jacquie Hood Martin is a full-time servant leader and a woman “with a yielded Spirit.”
An ordained minister for nearly a dozen years, Hood Martin has been inspiring women all across the country with her matter-of-fact teaching and leadership style. Whether speaking, writing columns or in her book, Fulfilled! The Art and Joy of Balanced Living, Hood Martin’s main focus is to bring the best out of each and every person she touches.
She is the founder of Jacquie Hood Ministries, an organization that equips and empowers people for daily living. She studied Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; earned her management degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas; and her Bachelor’s in Religious Studies from Excelsior College, Albany, New York. After graduation, she served a decade as the first female staff pastor at the Brookhollow Baptist Church/The Church Without Walls, Houston, Texas, led by pastor/founder Ralph Douglas West.
Hood Martin’s many activities include serving on the Baptist General Convention of Texas State Women’s Evangelism Team. She was previously a spiritual columnist and daily devotional writer for BlackAmericaWeb.com, owned by nationally syndicated radio show host Tom Joyner, Hood Martin guided thousands of readers each week to appropriately apply scripture to their daily lives, and led the site’s Anointed Chat Room, an online bible study.
She serves as a personal life skills coach for women from all walks of life, collegiate to corporate, helping them to set their priorities and to make smart, sound decisions. Hood Martin is also a certified yoga instructor, teaching her pupils the importance of incorporating meditation into their daily schedule in order to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Hood Martin resides in the Dallas suburb of Cedar Hill with her husband and Godly mate, Roland S. Martin, a nationally syndicated columnist with Creators Syndicate; news editor of Savoy Magazine, CEO/editor of D/FW Heritage Christian Newspaper; and author of Speak Brother! A Black Man's View of America.
